OLD BUSINESS
Memberships are due as of January 1st. If you have not paid your dues, please do so and note the new mailing address.
Heather sent out the invoices for Stockman and Yellowstone Banks for their sign sponsorship renewals which will be due in June. Have not received any payments yet, but will send another invoice if they are not received by their due dates. *Update: still no payments received, Heather will send a 2nd invoice to each business*
Cortney checked with someone regarding our “not for profit” status. This gentleman will be at our May meeting to go over the different non-profit statuses with us and help us determine if we would like to try to make the change over to Sheriff’s Posse rather than stay as the LSC. Please attend that meeting if you have any question or concerns regarding this matter. *UPDATE- Don was unable to attend this months meeting but should be at August’s meeting*
We did not get by-laws updated at this meeting. Andy will try to get the by-laws from a previous Sheriff’s Posse member for us to look at. We will try to combine their by-laws with ours since they have section on the Polo team. Hopefully our by-laws will be updated next meeting (hopefully, hopefully, hopefully). *UPDATE- Ditto*
We have been having Open Riding nights on Wednesdays. The weather has been horrible every Wednesday so we have gotten no response. We will continue Open Riding nights throughout July. If we don’t get response with better weather, we will consider discontinuing them at our August meeting.
Polo practices will run Friday after 5pm and Sunday @ 1pm this year. The arena is available for all members to ride outside those times. If you want to try out Polo, anybody is welcome to attend a practice.
Cortney got prices for vinyl signs and corrugated (?) material signs. Our cost is drastically less than permanent signs that would be made through Solo Graphics. Heather also mentioned that the last storms semi-destroyed our LSC gate sign. If any of the sponsor signs are broken we need to repair them at our cost as that was in our sponsorship agreements. The attendees decided to discontinue sales for the permanent signs for this reason and we will work on a price sheet for these other signs. *UPDATE- we are still working on pricing*
We still have raffle tickets to sell for our raffle rifle. Please contact Heather if you would like tickets to sell for the club. We would like all members to participate in this!!!!
The polo tournament May 22nd/23rd brought in $366.08 after our expenses were paid. That’s great news.
NEW BUSINESS
We have a Horsemanship clinic at the LSC the weekend of June 19th/20th with Bruce Thiel. Prices are $50/rider/day and $10/auditor/day. We will take a 1 hour break for lunch each day rather than do concessions this time.
***Reminder that there is no monthly meeting/newsletter for July***
There is no interest in doing a float or riders in the 4th of July parade again this year.
If you know anyone who might be interested in advertising at our arena, please contact Heather Richeson for details @ 628-6095 or hrmp1984@yahoo.com.
