OLD BUSINESS
Memberships are due as of January 1st. If you have not paid your dues, please do so and note the new mailing address.
There was no meeting in July.
Heather sent out the invoices (in May) for Stockman and Yellowstone Banks for their sign sponsorship renewals which were due in June. She has sent follow up renewal forms in July and has made phone calls to each bank this month. The contacts at each bank have not returned any phone calls to date, so she is still trying to collect on those renewals.
Cortney’s CPA acquaintance is currently out of state and will not be able to consult with us on the Sheriff’s Posse/non-profit status issue for a while. We will schedule him to attend a meeting when he is back in town and available.
We will update by-laws at a future meeting in coordination with the possible tax status change.
We have been having Open Riding nights on Wednesdays. We will discontinue Open Riding nights at this time. We will look at having them again next summer or on demand.
Polo practices will run Friday after 5pm and Sunday @ 1pm this year. The arena is available for all members to ride outside those times. If you want to try out Polo, anybody is welcome to attend a practice. The polo season will be done at the end of this month. Practice will start again in April.
We will look into making price lists for vinyl signs at another meeting when more members are present. The price of our current board signs may be the reason we are not getting our contracts renewed with sponsors. We would like to keep the signs affordable while still making a small profit to pay bills and make improvements.
We still have raffle tickets to sell for our raffle rifle until our October meeting. Please contact Heather if you would like tickets to sell for the club. We would like all members to participate in this!!!! We have permission to sell tickets at Laurel’s TSC store anytime we would like to. If anybody is available to sit at our raffle table on a weekend please coordinate with Heather #406-788-2199.
NEW BUSINESS
Kids N Cowboys is coming up Saturday October 16th. We will be in the same area of the Metra as usual (by the bandstand). We offer rides for the kids from 2-4pm and need roughly 10 horses to participate. If you have a horse that is SAFE to use for this event and can participate, please RSVP with Cortney #690-5269 or Heather #406-788-2199 or just call for more info. Currently we only have 2 horses/handlers that can attend so any help would be greatly appreciated. **We need to have only safe horses for this children’s event- leave your green-broke and spooky horses home please**
Field Days are coming up this month August 28th & 29th in Great Falls for the Cowboy Polo team.
We have no more trail rides scheduled for 2010, but can add some if anybody has a nice ride to go on.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE CHANGED OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS TO THE 2ND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH STARTING IN APRIL*
If you know anyone who might be interested in advertising at our arena, please contact Heather Richeson for details @ 628-6095 or hrmp1984@yahoo.com for details.
